Dessert bar? I asked myself that question when I left Yoga class on St. Marks Street, between 2^nd and 3^rd Streets, very close to NYU. With my Yoga mat under the arm, and before hopping to my bike, I saw an interesting sign that read: SPOT. 

 

I followed the sign and found the cutest surprise of the afternoon. It is a dessert bar with a decoration of wood, milk bottles, grass, photography, and an open bar of natural desserts. The ambiance transported my imagination to an old farm in the savannah of Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia.

SPOT has a menu of teas, coffee beverages, milk shakes, and juices of all styles. The desserts are an inspiration of natural Asian sweets, and their variety of ice creams and sorbets with toppings like coconut cream, basil seeds, and chocolate pearls, are some of the curiosities found at this place.

Their mission of sweetening guests’ palate with an exotic and artistic dessert that is small, natural, and delicious, inspired my heart to write this piece.

Bar de postres? Eso mismo me pregunté cuando sali de clase de Yoga en la Calle St. Marks, entre Calle 2nda y 3era, muy cerca a NYU. Llevaba mi tapete de Yoga y antes de montarme en mi bicicleta, vi un aviso interesante que leía: SPOT.

Me acerqué y seguí la señal hacia unas escaleras, hasta descubrir la sorpresa más linda de la tarde. Un bar de postres con una decoración de madera, botellas de leche, grama, fotografías, y un bar abierto de postres naturales. El ambiente me transportó a una finca de la sabana de Bogotá, la capital de Colombia.

SPOT tiene un menú de tés, cafés, malteadas, y jugos de todos los estilos. Los postres son una inspiración de dulces naturales Asiáticos, y la variedad de helados y sorbetes con garnituras como nata de coco, semillas de albahaca, y perlas de chocolate, son sólo algunas de sus curiosidades.

Su misión de endulzar el paladar de los comensales con postres exóticos y artísticos que sean pequeños, naturales, y deliciosos, inspiraron a mi corazón a escribir este artículo.
